Acrylic bathtubs for hard-wearing good looks
When it comes to choosing a bathtub, one of the most important things you have
to think about is the type of material that the bathtub is actually made from.
In the old days bathtubs were usually made from cast-iron. This material has had
a recurrence in popularity in recent years but has the disadvantage of being
extremely heavy - not to mention expensive. It is for this reason that one of
the most common and popular materials for bathtub manufacture nowadays is
acrylic.
Acrylic bathtubs can be found in almost every show room and the popularity is
due to several simple reasons. The first of these, as mentioned above, is that
acrylic is much lighter than iron or steel - especially when the iron or steel

traditional oblong bathtub to a deep traditional claw foot bathtub. And as well
as being available in many different shapes, they can also be easily fitted with
accessories such as a whirlpool, meaning that no matter what type of bathtub you
looking for acrylic will probably do the job. This is especially important if
you need to have a bathtub that these custom-made for a particular size or shape
of bathroom.
As mentioned earlier, acrylic bathtubs are much more scratch resistant than
their fiberglass bathtub counterparts. However, despite it having some scratch
resistant properties, and despite an acrylic bathtub being more hard wearing
than fiberglass, it will become scratched if the surface of the bathtub is not
given proper due care and attention. However, if the bathtub does become
damaged, it can be refinished fairly easily. This method can also be used if a
change of color is required.

they have become and stayed popular. With their ability to stay looking good for
years, not to mention the fact that acrylic can be molded into almost any shape,
the material is a good choice for almost any style and design.
